The How to...Develop a Volunteering Initiative Guide has been devised to accompany the workshop detailed below and is a useful tool which can be taken away and used for future reference.

The one-day workshop looks at the development of good practice in new and existing volunteering initiatives. It provides information and advice on policies and procedures which are relevant to running a professional volunteering programme including:

•  Organisational policies that impact on volunteering

•  Marketing

•  Recruitment

•  Induction

•  Training

•  Support and supervision

Each section relates to the different stages of volunteer management and highlights the various issues involved with recruiting volunteers.

How to...Measure the Outcomes of Informal Learning

The purpose of this guide is to support voluntary organisations that provide informal learning and development opportunities for staff, volunteers or clients to measure and assess the achievement of learners and to develop and share good practice.

The toolkit contains a range of information and resources that can be adapted and tailored to meet the needs of a range of voluntary sector organisations and their learners. Click here to view the toolkit

How to...Build on Your Skills

The "Build on Your Skills" pack has been devised to be used on its own or can be used as part of a facilitated session. Then once you know what training is needed there are some hints and tips on how to organise a training course, and how to evaluate the course to make sure it was successful.
